Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery
Turning to the rich history of the rural cemeteries of the 19th century, the architects of Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery preserved the historic elements of a time when cemeteries became, not only places of mourning, but also places for those wanting to experience the peacefulness and serenity of a beautiful park.
Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery provides families with exceptional settings for the permanent memorials of their loved ones. With acres of rolling green lawns, majestic trees, countryside vistas, and a cremation garden, Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery is a perfect place for families to return, year after year, in remembrance and honor.
Sometimes one family member wants to be buried and another wishes to be cremated, yet they want to be together. Because we know this to be a common wish, Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services makes it simple for families. We can easily arrange for a common burial of both your loved ones in the same lot.
We would be honored to guide you through the cemetery grounds, explore your perspectives, and make suggestions. Ultimately, the decision is in your hands; but our expertise can certainly guide you.
Traditionally, in-ground burial has been the choice of many families. We provide families with many in-ground burial options, including large family estate lots, multiple space lots and single grave spaces. Depending on the needs of the family, there are many areas throughout the cemetery to choose.
Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery maintains a variety of facilities for the interment of cremated remains, giving you a full selection of urns, niches, mausoleums and urn gardens. For those families who desire it, we’re also able to combine in-ground burial for both casketed and cremated remains.
Cremation niches are available in our mausoleum with both single and double interment offered. We also offer personalized niche benches for those desiring something more unique. In- ground burial is available for both single and double interment of the cremated remains. Kirby's Tucker Cemetery offers a broad range of permanent memorials in both granite and bronze on granite designs.
Mausoleums allow for above ground entombment in either community buildings or specially designed family structures. At one time the advantages of mausoleum entombment were available only to royalty, the famed or the very wealthy. Well-known mausoleums include the Taj Mahal, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and Egyptian Pyramids. Mausoleum property is now affordable to most everyone.
The existing mausoleum at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery is a community mausoleum with crypt space for one or two caskets, and cremation niches which can hold one or two cremations. Mementos may be placed at the time of service or later at the convenience of the family.
Private Family Mausoleums
Only just recently have family mausoleums become an affordable and viable option for more and more families. Annual sales of family mausoleums have increased 2200% in the past 20 years and are expected to continually increase in the future.
Selecting a family mausoleum is a sound and permanent investment requiring thoughtful, thorough consideration of many factors. We suggest an orderly step-by-step approach to eliminate uncertainties, minimize expenses and assure selection of the family mausoleum that meets all of your requirements.
Cremation Scattering Gardens
The Scattering Garden is a designated area in our cemetery where cremated remains are scattered. We offer four beautifully designed granite monuments that have bronze scrolls with the names and dates of the individuals whose remains have been scattered here. Many families choose to scatter a portion of their loved one’s remains in our scattering garden, even if their loved one wished to be scattered in a personally meaningful location, like a lake, river, or forest. That way, the scattering garden gives the family a permanent and accessible place to remember, reflect, and share with future generations.
Green Burial Section
Traditional burial rituals have been “Green” for thousands of years, being performed without a casket, symbolizing the return to the Earth and the dust from which you were created; honoring the natural process intended for our bodies to be reunited with the earth. The key difference between our hybrid green burial section and the rest of the property is that burials are performed in biodegradable caskets or shrouds with no concrete vaults or liners placed in the interment space. As environmental consciousness continues to rise, Kirby’s Tucker Memorial Cemetery remains committed to responsibly using natural resources. We understand that many of our families choose to consider ecological values in addition to religious values when making their end-of-life arrangements. Kirby’s Tucker Memorial Cemetery continues to be among the most progressive cemeteries in Arkansas, offering the largest variety of options to our community. Those considering green burial are often surprised to discover how engaging and gratifying the process can be for the family and loved ones of the deceased. Green burial offers many opportunities for families to participate in a variety of steps throughout the burial process, such as carrying their loved one’s body to the gravesite, lowering the body into the grave, and filling the grave space. Though family participation is entirely optional, many families appreciate the intimacy such close involvement provides. Green burial is yet another example of our dedication to accommodate the requests and diversity of the families we are honored to serve.
