William Ray Duncan

William Ray Duncan, 77, a resident of Clarkridge, Arkansas, peacefully passed away on July 18, 2024 in the comfort of his home. Born on September 30, 1946, in Thorpe, West Virginia, William was the son of Willie and Clara Poff Duncan. He courageously served his country as a United States Army veteran during the Vietnam War. Throughout his journey, William dedicated his talents as a skilled machinist.


In 2019, William established new roots in Clarkridge after moving from Rock Falls, Illinois. His commitment to service extended beyond his military duty as he remained an active member of both the American Legion and a lifelong member of the D.A.V., embodying a sense of duty and camaraderie. Among his many passions, William found solace in the tranquility of fishing.


William leaves behind his surviving two brothers, Robert (Penny) Duncan of Springfield, IL, and Charles (Leah) Duncan of Clarkridge, AR; and two sisters, Janice (Mike) Hubbard of Rock Falls, IL, and Kathy (Denny) Jacobs of Byron, IL. He is reunited in eternal peace with his parents, Willie and Clara Duncan; brother, Tom Duncan and sister, Betty Meinsma.


A Graveside Funeral Service honoring William's life will take place on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 10:00 am, at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Sterling, Illinois. The service will be accompanied by Military Honors as a tribute to his dedicated service. To honor William's legacy, memorial contributions may be made to a cause close to your heart. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
