Stephen Ray Thiessen of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away May 16, 2026, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 79. He was born September 17, 1946, in Hutchinson, Kansas, the son of Ernest and Georgia Watkins Thiessen. Stephen was a U.S. Navy veteran. He married Susan Miller on February 9, 1981 in Neosho, Missouri. The couple lived in Florida for many years where they owned and operated several businesses. In addition to being an entrepreneur, Stephen was an artist and musician. His talents brought light and love to all who knew him. He lived in Mountain Home since moving from Florida in 2024.

Stephen is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Susan Thiessen; children, Jared (Courtnee) Rideout, Jonas (Caroline) Rideout, Shana (Robbie) Rideout, and Michelle (Chance) Reynolds; grandchildren, Abigail Rideout, Jacob (Tyler) Smith, Sarah Smith, Miles Rideout, Leif Rideout, and Victoria Reynolds; and great-granddaughter, Josephine Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Graveside Service will be 12:30 pm, Thursday, May 21, 2026 in the Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Florida. A Celebration of Life for Stephen will be held at a later date.
