Shirley Ann Johnson Byrd, 90, passed away at her home on July 25, 2026 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was born on November 22, 1935 in Alton, Missouri, to Everett and Nora Howell Johnson. Shirley is a graduate of Norfork High School, and was the builder of the Norfork Cafe. She served for many years on the Baxter County Quorum Court and was a deputy assessor for years before retiring in 1997. Shirley was known for her love of the Lord and dedication to her family. She treasured her time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandson, and remained the central figure of influence for her beloved family. Shirley attended Arkana Baptist Church and was a long-time resident of the Arkana area.

Shirley is survived by her children, Keith (Jane) Byrd and Kathy (Russell) Hutchens; and a niece, Sondra (Ben) McFarland. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Shannon (Stacey) Byrd, Marla (James) Strecker, Kacey Schaufler Brown, and Zach (Katie) Hutchens; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and was excited about the two great-great-grandchildren on the way.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Nora Johnson; brother, Marlin Johnson; sister-in-law, Rose Johnson; and granddaughter-in-law, Angel Byrd.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 from 10:00 AM until service time, at Arkana Baptist Church. A Funeral Service will follow, at 11:00 am. Burial will be in the Galatia Cemetery in Norfork, Arkansas.
