Sharon Hammond Butler, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away on September 27, 2026, peacefully surrounded by the love of the family who meant everything to her.

Born July 20, 1946, in West Plains, Missouri, to Shelby and Neva Hammond, Sharon grew up in West Plains and graduated from West Plains High School in 1964. She found the love of her life in Randel Butler, and together they began a marriage, a family, and a life that would become her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment.

Sharon and Randel created a wonderful life together, centered on their family, their faith, and the many years and memories they shared. In 1966, they opened Butler Furniture in Mountain Home, building a business that would serve the community for decades and become a lasting family legacy. Sharon was an important part of that success. She was hardworking, capable, and strong, helping grow the business without losing sight of the role that mattered most to her—being a wife, mother, grandmother, and caretaker to her family.

Above everything else, Sharon loved her family. They were truly the center of her world. She was a devoted and selfless wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. One of the greatest ways she cared for others was through cooking. Those who knew her will remember the wonderful meals she prepared, and her recipes were so treasured that she created a family cookbook so they could continue to be enjoyed for years to come.

Sharon especially cherished the holidays and the time they brought with family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, decorating, entertaining, and creating traditions and memories for those closest to her. Her home was always a place where people gathered, ate well, laughed, and felt welcome. She and Randel also enjoyed traveling, visiting many places around the world, and playing golf with dear friends, creating many wonderful memories along the way.

Sharon will also be remembered for her beautiful spirit—her warm smile, kindness, patience, and quiet strength. She had a calm demeanor and was often the steady presence in the middle of any storm. Most of all, Sharon had a way of making life more beautiful for the people around her simply by being herself.

She is survived by her children, Randy Butler (Laureen), Lisa Watson (Ron), and Matt Butler (Amber); six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Randel Butler; her parents, Shelby and Neva Hammond; her brother, James "Red" McLain; her sister, Pat Claridge; and her beloved granddaughter, Katie Butler.

Visitation for Sharon will be held at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 1, 2026 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, October 2, 2026, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church with Father Alex Smith as Celebrant. Burial will be in the Baxter Memorial Gardens.
