Roger Douglas Alsaker of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away May 1, 2026, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 92. He was born July 28, 1933, in Melrose Park, Illinois, the son of Oscar and Viola Mittlacher Alsaker. He married Joan Wasielewski on August 17, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois. Roger was a U.S. Army veteran and later worked as a gas distribution technichian. Roger lived in Mountain Home since moving from Hanover Park, Illinois, in 1991. He was a member of the Alley-White American Legion Post #52. He enjoyed bowling, playing softball, and fishing. Roger especially enjoyed traveling with his wife.
Roger is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Joan Alsaker of Mountain Home, AR; nieces and nephews, Laurie (Mike) Stallings, Wayne (Grace) Wasielewski, Donna (Jerry) O'Brien, and Frank (Michelle) Wasielewski; great-nieces and nephews, Amber, Cory, Lisa, Kim, Jeff, Kevin, Grayden; and great great-nieces and nephews, Julian, Nathan, Hannah, Evelyn, Amelia, Owen, Liam, Eddie, Sonny, and Charlotte.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Graveside Service for Roger will be 1:30 pm, Thursday, May 7, 2026 in the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Illinois. Military Honors will be provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard.
