Rodney Paul Nicholas of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away on January 27, 2026, in Mountain Home at the age of 80. He was born June 9, 1945, in Grand Island, Nebraska, to Harold and Audrey (Henderson) Nicholas. Rodney was a proud U.S. Air Force veteran who served during the Vietnam War era serving in Taiwan and Red Bluff California.

After making Mountain Home his home, he married Constance Mench on September 17, 2016, beginning a chapter marked by shared faith and love, creativity, and travel. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Formerly of Carlos and Alexandria, Minnesota, Rodney lived a busy and productive life, operating multiple businesses and devoting countless hours to woodworking and crafting toys. A graduate of the Carpentry program at Alexandria Technical College, he built his own family home along the Long Prairie River near Carlos in 1978 where he raised his family.

Rodney was deeply involved in his community as a retail business owner, volunteer firefighter, landlord, and skilled handyman, performing many property repairs and remodeling projects. He was always looking and excited for the next endeavor in life. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and spending time outdoors with his boys along the Long Prairie River, and at his family’s farm in Rose City, where he was a member of the Rose City Church.

Rodney loved inventing and creating in his woodshop, but above all else, he loved his family and was a man of strong faith. He was a hardworking man in every sense of the word, working up until the day he passed. His influence on his sons was constant—instilling a deep respect for work, responsibility, independence, and integrity in each of them. He was immensely proud of the lives they built for themselves.

Rodney is survived by his wife, Constance Faith Nicholas of Mountain Home, AR; three sons, Brian (Michelle) Nicholas of Edmond, OK, Bradley (Karen) Nicholas of St. Paul, MN, and Bill (Megan) Nicholas of Garfield, MN; and their mother, Laura Nicholas of Osakis, MN. He is also survived by his brother, Randy Nicholas of Mesa, AZ; his sister, Ramona Nicholas of Mesa, AZ; and three grandchildren of whom he was especially proud—Caitlin, Gavin, and Morgan. Rodney also leaves behind his uncle, Laurel Henderson, and aunt, Mona Henderson, of Mountain Home, AR, and so many very close friends.

A Memorial Service for Rodney will be held at the Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Jordan Moore officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 and the United States Air Force Honor Guards.
