Paul James Hooyer, 82, passed away on August 14, 2026 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Paul was born on August 26, 1943 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Henry and Frances (Laninga) Hooyer. He was a lifetime carpenter. Paul served in the United States Army. He was an amazing husband, father & grandfather as well as a loyal friend to many. Paul enjoyed spending time with family, traveling and had several hobbies.

Paul is survived by his wife Connie Hooyer of Mountain Home, AR, son Matthew (Jennifer) Hooyer of Mountain Home, AR, daughter Kimberlee (Bruce) Jardon of Overland Park, KS, sister Charlene Hooyer of Grand Rapids, Michigan, sister-in-law Ihla Hooyer of Edgerton, Minnesota, sister-in-law Mary Hooyer of Wheaton, Illinois. He has five grandchildren, Kyle, Zoe, Rhett, Taylor, Kelsey, Carter and several nephews and nieces.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers, John, Bob, Howard and sister-in-law Muriel Hooyer.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 12, 2026 from 4:00-7:00pm at the Table Community Church. A meal will be provided. A private family entombment will be at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum in Mountain Home, Arkansas, with Military Honors.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Abounds Counseling or Mountain Home Christian Academy.
