A Family Graveside Service for Norman David Nelson of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at the Elmwood Cemetery, in Sycamore, Illinois. Visitation will be Sunday, July 29, 2018, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home, Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Norman passed away July 25, 2018, in Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of 73. He was born September 28, 1944, in De Kalb, Illinois, the son of Gunnar and Marion Swanson Nelson. Norman was a U.S. Army veteran of the Cold War, serving in Berlin, Germany. He married Patricia Cretsinger on June 10, 1988, in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin and was an electrician for IBEW 364, G&G Electric for 36 years. Norman lived in Mountain Home since moving from Sycamore, Illinois, in 2001. He was a member of the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 and VFW Post #5768 in Sycamore, Illinois. He enjoyed fishing, target shooting, and playing bluegrass music.

Norman is survived by his wife, Patricia Nelson of Mountain Home, AR; daughter, Lynnette (Eric) Bolte of Independence, WI; two brothers, Paul (Kathy) Nelson of Genoa, IL, and Phillip (Christine) Nelson of Dekalb, IL; three grandchildren, Nick, Ashley, and Aaron; and two great-grandchildren, Kaiden and McKenna.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
