Listen to Obituary

Nancy Lee (Jordan) Hurst, 70, of Cotter, Arkansas, passed away on October 1, 2025, in Cotter. She was born on October 12, 1954 in Clovis, New Mexico, to Billy Charles Jordan and Mary Frances Jordan. Because her father served in the Air Force, Nancy’s childhood was one of constant movement and new beginnings. In June of 1972, Nancy met and quickly fell in love with Philip Hurst. They were married on January 5, 1973 in Searcy, Arkansas. After spending some time living and working in Little Rock, in 1981 Nancy and Philip built a home and a life in Cotter, where they shared the next 44 wonderful years together. Nancy's life was defined by love for her family - especially her children and grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. She found great happiness in spending time with family and friends, reading a good book, and cooking for those she loved. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her gift of hospitality, and the love she poured into everyone around her.

Nancy is survived by her mother, Mary Frances Jordan; her sister, Martha Ruth (Frank) Brown; her husband, Charles Philip Hurst; her children, Staci (Corey) Coston, Melissa (Drew) McKinnon, and Jordan (Mary) Hurst; and her seven beloved grandchildren, JP (16), Leah (14), Kynleigh (13), Zeke (10), Grant (9), Brooks (6), and Charlie (8 months).

She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Charles Jordan, and her brother, Robert Wayne Jordan.
