Michael Lee Payne, born in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home in Mountain Home, Arkansas, on June 2, 2025. A licensed master plumber by trade, Michael’s work and warm spirit touched lives across the globe, including in the many years he spent in Jamaica. He was known as the light and soul of any gathering. Mike had a gift for making everyone feel like a friend. He had a nickname for most everyone he met and a smile that could light up any room. Even during his illness, Mike chose to keep his struggles private, never wanting to burden those he loved.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife, An; his children: Kyle (Jessica Joyce) Payne and Jessica (Shaun) Kaiser; Brooklyn Payne; Jeff (Diana) Payne, and many grandchildren: Jaren and Madelyn Payne; Dextyn, Brynlee and Parker Kaiser; and Riley Mackie; together with Kenisha Guffie; and Logan and Lydia Joyce. He is also survived by his sister, Dee Dee Hamilton; and brother, Mark (Mary) Payne.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Bethel and Lowell Payne. A brother: Timothy Payne, and nieces: Kristin and Jamie Ringer.
In keeping with Mike’s wishes, no services will be held at this time. His family invites those who knew him to honor his memory in their own way- perhaps with a toast, a story, or a smile shared in his name.
Mike’s legacy of laughter, kindness, and connection will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
