Michael “Mike” Anthony Lucas, of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, passed away on April 2, 2025, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 81. He was born on July 16, 1943, in Glendale, California, to Charles Edward Lucas and Nena Francis VanDyke. Mike proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, enlisting in 1966 and retiring in 1990 as a Lieutenant Colonel. A Vietnam War veteran, he remained a staunch supporter of the U.S. Armed Forces and the local police throughout his life. He married Anne Stephens on February 22, 1968, in Okinawa, Japan. Mike dedicated his life to the service of our country before retiring to Bull Shoals, Arkansas, after relocating from Huntsville, Alabama in 1990. An avid outdoorsman, Mike found great joy in fishing and water sports, often joined by his friends and family. A passionate car enthusiast and skilled mechanic, he spent much of his retirement restoring classic cars and sharing his love of automobiles with those close to him.
Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Anne; his daughter, Lisa Doughty; his son, Mike Lucas; and his grandson, Jack Doughty. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Michelle.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Newton Flat Cemetery. Military Honors will be presented by the United States Army Honors Team.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mike’s name to the Stone County 100 Club, 1440 State Highway 248 - Ste Q, Box 258, Branson, Missouri 65616-9257. The Stone County 100 Club is a non-profit organization providing financial support to the surviving spouses and dependent children of First Responders killed in the line of duty.
