Max Harold Chism of Lakeview, Arkansas, passed away June 1, 2026, in Lakeview, Arkansas at the age of 75. He was born August 4, 1950, in Greenfield, Missouri the son of Glen and Fae Dodd Chism. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Max worked in the lab at Kraft Foods in Springfield, Missouri for 32 years. He lived in Lakeview since moving from Springfield in 2001 to be with his best friend and love of his life, Sammie Daly. Max's retirement didn't last long until he was ready to work again. He owned Chism Lawn Service and stayed busy taking care of his neighbors. He enjoyed handball, racquetball, lifting weights, and bass fishing. Max loved to take the boat out on Bull Shoals Lake and Table Rock Lake. Every year, he and Sammie would travel to South Padre Island, Texas with their Airstream and spend a month away together.
Max is survived by his life partner of 25 years; siblings, Richard (Myrna) Chism, Vera (Larry) Beach, Peggy Feasel, Betty (Harry) Charles, Larry (Marsha) Chism, Rick (Alisha) Chism, Janice (Glenn) Jarvis, and Glenda (Larry) Underwood; stepson, Edward Daly; and grandchildren, Quattro Daly, Elvis Daly, Zeke Daly, LaRod Watts, and Amber Watts.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Allowee; stepdaughter, Tiffany Daly; and brothers-in-law, Bunk Feasel and Gene Baker.
Services will be private in Stockton, Missouri. A Celebration of Life will be held locally at a later date.
