Arthur C. Martin, 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 21, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
Art was born on January 3, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur B. Martin. He is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Martin of Mountain Home, Arkansas; his mother, Marie Nielsen of Bull Shoals, Arkansas; his sister Debbie (Nick) Blevins of Cotter, Arkansas; and his daughter Angela (Rocky) Boling of Oswego, Illinois. He was a proud grandfather to Ella, Layla, and Evan.
Art is also survived by his mother-in-law Dorothy Wyrobek of Lake in the Hills, Illinois; his sisters-in-law Kim Eurley of Munster, Indiana, and Sandy Lesniewski of Woodstock, Illinois; along with many beloved nieces and a nephew: Michelle, Nicole, Samantha, Sarah, and John.
Art grew up in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago and attended Luther North High School. A lifelong Chicago sports fan, Art was an especially devoted supporter of the Chicago Cubs and spent many of his younger days in the bleachers at Wrigley Field enjoying the game he loved. One of the highlights of his life as a fan was finally seeing the Cubs win the 2016 World Series.
He was also a passionate lover of music and curated an incredible album collection over the years. Among his favorites were The Beatles and Led Zeppelin, whose music filled his home and life. During the 1970s, Art’s parents and extended family relocated to Bull Shoals, Arkansas. Art and his wife later moved to the area as well, where the family came to deeply appreciate the beauty of the Ozark Mountains, especially the lakes and the White River. Art cherished time spent with his father fishing on Bull Shoals Lake-memories that remained close to his heart throughout his life.
Art was known for his incredible sense of humor, his kindness, and the lifelong friendships he maintained over the years. He will be remembered for his warmth, laughter, and the deep love he had for his family.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM at the Gaston's Conference Lodge.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Art’s honor to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
