Martha Jean Sanford, 78, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away on August 3, 2025, in Mountain Home. She was born on December 26, 1946, in Saint Louis, Missouri, to Gene and Glenda (Walker) Randleman.
In 1964, Martha married Joe Sanford in St. Louis, where she began a career in the airline industry. Over the years, she worked as a maintenance planner for Trans World Airlines, American Airlines, and Ozark Airlines. After retiring, she and Joe made Mountain Home their home, relocating from St. Louis more than 20 years ago.
Martha was an active member of The Bridge Baptist Church and served as the secretary of her local golf league. She loved the game of golf and the friendships it brought her.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Joe Sanford Sr. of Mountain Home; her son, Joe Darrell (Diane) Sanford Jr. of Evansville, Indiana; her sisters, Rosie Thouvenot of St. Louis, Missouri, and Patricia (Roger) Adams of Salt Lake City, Utah; her grandchildren, Alex (Genevieve) Sanford and Sydney Sanford; and her great-grandson, Oliver Sanford. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at The Bridge Baptist Church, officiated by Brother Hershel Conley. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Bridge Baptist Church.
