Martha Ann
Campbell
Oct 5, 1939 — Jun 2, 2026
Ann Campbell was, quite simply, one if the kindest people you could ever hope to meet.
Martha "Ann" Campbell, 86, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, surrounded by a loving family.
Born on October 5, 1939, in Kelly, Louisiana, to Edgar Thompson and Julia Rosalie Grafton Long, Ann lived a life stitched together with kindness, faith, family, and service to others. She married Winston Bernard Campbell in 1958, and together they built a life filled with love, adventure, and community.
Ann wore many hats throughout her life. She owned a fabric store, taught piano lessons, earned her Master's degree in Education, and spent many years teaching students with learning disabilities. She was also a talented seamstress and quilter, rarely far from a sewing project and always creating something beautiful for someone she loved.
She and Winston enjoyed traveling together, making cherished memories in places such as Alaska, Hawaii, and England. Whether at home or exploring somewhere new, Ann found joy in life's simple pleasures—a warm conversation, a thoughtful card, a cup of coffee or tea, time with family, and helping others.
More than anything, Ann will be remembered for her gentle spirit. She had a remarkable way of making people feel accepted, valued, and loved exactly as they were. You never felt like a disappointment in Ann's eyes. Her quiet faith, patient heart, and unwavering kindness left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Ann is survived by her daughters, Jan Jesse of Gassville, Arkansas, and Teresa Campbell of Fayetteville, Arkansas; her brother, David (John) Long of Vancouver, Washington; her grandchildren, Waylon (Michelle) Jesse, Clayton Jesse, Adrian Luke Jesse, Sarah Nicole (Justin) Berenguel, and Christian Holland; and her great-grandchildren, Blue, Nora, and June.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Winston Bernard Campbell; her parents; and her son, Scott Michael Campbell.
Though small in stature, Ann's presence in the lives of those who loved her was immeasurable. Her quilts, her music, her cards, and her kindness remain woven into the hearts of her family and friends. Her memory will be treasured always.
Services will be held at a later date in Illinois.
