Mark Whitney of Council Bluffs, Iowa passed away March 11, 2024, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 71. He was born May 30, 1952, in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Donald and Joan Young Whitney. He worked as a sales representative for US West Direct. He was a member of the Duncan's breakfast club in Council Bluffs. Mark and Carrie met in 1987 and have been together ever since. They enjoyed their cabin on Lewis and Clark Lake in Nebraska. Mark enjoyed financial stock investment and his many farms. He valued the time he spend with his many nieces and nephews. Mark and Carrie together loved fishing, hunting and gardening activities.

Mark is survived by his wife, Carrie Whitney of Council Bluffs, IA; brother, Giles (Debbie)Whitney; sisters, Susan (Bruce) Radford and Marsha (Steve) Lampman; sister in law, Ruby Whitney; brother in law, Bob Yanders; eleven nieces and nephews. Their beloved pets; Tasha, Charlie, Ginger and Chester.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Pamela Bogardus; brothers, David and Brian Whitney.
