Marilyn Faye Jones

Marilyn Faye Jones of Flippin, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2023, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 84.
She was born on October 8, 1939, at the family home in Atlantic, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Lula Longnecker Hansen. She married her high school sweetheart, Gerald Jones on September 16, 1961.

Marilyn managed a woman’s clothing store after high school. She was a homemaker, hired hand and accountant on the family farm and businesses.
Marilyn loved planting flowers in the spring and summer and watching and feeding the birds. She loved her home on the White River and enjoyed decorating it for each season, especially Christmas .
She played Pinochle with her friends 2-3 days a week for the last 25 years never failing to bake something sweet for the group. Anyone that knew Marilyn, knew not to bother her during football season. She loved football, all football, she kept stats for every game.
Mostly, we want people to remember what a “classy lady” she was. Marilyn never left her home without being dressed immaculately, hair perfect and a gorgeous smile on her face.

Marilyn is survived by her son, Scott (Sherry) Jones of Springfield, MO; daughter, Julienne (Mike) Crews of Flippin, AR; grandchildren, Shalene Stevens of Flippin, AR, Blake Jones of Cedar Rapids, IA, Kaylee Purdom of Yellville, AR and Colby Crews of Flippin, AR; sisters, Norma Jean Jones of Shell Knob, AR and Shirley (Dr. Duane) Acker of Atlantic, IA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother, Gary Lee Hansen.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Marilyn at 1PM on November 18th, 2023 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home in Bull Shoals, Arkansas. Burial will be family only at Fairview Cemetery.
