Margaret Ann Lawellin, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on November 4, 2024, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, where she and her husband owned and operated Three Oaks Resort on Lake Norfork. Born on May 24, 1957, in Lawrence, Kansas, Margaret spent her formative years in Pittsburg, Kansas.
Margaret was a loving and devoted wife to her husband, Don Lawellin for 34 years. They shared a beautiful bond and were married at Timmons Chapel on the campus of Pittsburg State University. Together, they raised their family in Joplin, Missouri. Margaret was a cherished mother to her step-son, Nathan Lawellin (Lindsay), and her daughters, Audrey Menke (Evan Menke) and Erin Lawellin (Cotter Collins). She was an adored grandmother to her grandchildren, Beau and Luke Lawellin, and Hudson, Adelaide, and Londyn Menke.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Leland Keller and Eileen Keller.
She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, and her brothers, Charles Keller (Donna) and David Keller (Sharon); plus numerous cousins and extended family.
Margaret had a passion for antiques, a curiosity she inherited from her parents. But her greatest joy was being a grandmother. Margaret was a kind and compassionate soul who loved people well. Her infectious laughter, kooky stories and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of life will be held for Margaret, 3:00 pm, December 10, 2024 at Christ’s Community Church in Joplin, Missouri
