Larry E. Vannatter of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away on April 2, 2026, in Calico Rock, Arkansas, at the age of 80. Born on August 17, 1945, in Marked Tree, Arkansas, he was the beloved son of Buck and Ader Sexton Vannatter. Larry married Janice Trent on March 7, 1967, in Pompano Beach, Florida.

A dedicated business owner, Larry operated the Calico Rock Trout Dock. He had a deep love for the outdoors, especially enjoying hunting and fishing. Larry was also an avid sports fan, cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks and the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.

Larry is remembered by his daughter, Susan (Kenneth) Brown of Mountain Home; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and his two sisters, Shirley Tunnicliff of Calico Rock and Edna Luster of Jordan. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Janice, son Robert Wayne Vannatter, daughter Teresa Elaine Caststeel, and six siblings.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at Kirby & Family Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Bill Hughes officiating. Larry will be laid to rest at Mountain Home Cemetery in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Chuck Smith, MaK Smith, Peyton Smith, Tyler Brown, Kenneth Brown, and Zayne Smith, with Jaxson Brown as an honorary pallbearer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements are entrusted to Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
