Julia Lee Adkerson of Gassville, Arkansas, passed away on March 17, 2026, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, at the age of 70. Born on September 11, 1955, in Sioux City, Iowa, she was the cherished daughter of Richard and Mary Lou Roberson.
Julia made Arkansas her home in 1978 after moving from Sioux City. On April 25, 1981, she married her beloved husband, Donald, in Cotter, Arkansas. Throughout her career, Julia dedicated many years as a manager for Dollar General until her recent retirement. She was a proud member of the First Baptist Church of Cotter.
Known for her warm spirit, Julia enjoyed playing poker and treasured her family deeply. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and a doting grandmother. Strong and nurturing, she served as a matriarch to those who knew her. Julia was also a wonderful friend who never met a stranger.
Julia is lovingly survived by her husband, Donald Adkerson of Gassville; her daughter, Melissa LeAnn Adkerson (Raymond Spangler) of Flippin, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Talaena Crabb and Domenic Freeman; her sister, Pat Stetter (George) of Minnesota; her brother, Rick Roberson of Idaho; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Mary Lou Roberson.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Cotter, Arkansas. The funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Cameron Ross. Burial will be in the Quality Ridge Cemetery in Clarkridge, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Arrangements are entrusted to Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services, Mountain Home, Arkansas. Julia Lee Adkerson will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the love she shared with all who had the privilege of knowing her.
