Joseph Bernard Beussink of Oakland, Arkansas, formerly of Carbondale, Illinois, went home to be with the Lord on December 1, 2025, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 77. He was born May 18, 1948, in Leopold, Missouri, the son of Bernard "Ben" and Bertha Jansen Beussink. He married Deborah Isom on February 25, 1972, in Leopold, Missouri and enjoyed 53 years of marriage.

Joseph had his own CPA practice in Anna, Illinois, for 43 years. He was a marathon runner for 20 years, running in Grandma's Marathon in Duluth, Minnesota in the spring and Rocket City Marathon in the autumn. He also enjoyed running in the River to River Relay across Southern Illinois several times. He retired at the end of 2018 to Oakland, Arkansas to enjoy deer hunting, fishing the lakes and rivers, and backpack hiking the trails of Missouri and Arkansas. He hiked the Ozark Trail, the Buffalo River Trail, and the Ozark Highland Trail, approximately 700 miles with switchbacks. He was a member of the Ozark Trail Association. He very much enjoyed working on maintenance and trail building with the group. He enjoyed teaching bible studies in Oakland. He attended Little Finley Bible Chapel in Seymore, Missouri. He also had a booth at the Baxter County Fair, passing out literature and sharing the Gospel with fair-goers.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Deborah Beussink of Oakland, Arkansas; children, Sarah (Paul) Gibson, Andrew Beussink, and Mark Beussink; grandchildren, Shadrick Gibson and Joanna Gibson; sisters, Angela Carlisle, Geri Gerringer, Jenny Nenninger, and Debra Eudy; and dear sister-in-law, Sandy Beussink.
