John Mitchell Persico, 89, passed away on September 8, 2026 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. John was born on November 19, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois to Salvitore and Esther Sterina Persico. John was very proud of his heritage, having both parents born in Italy. He was a United States Airforce veteran. John was a talented carpenter and a 50 year member of Will County Carpenters Local 174. John married Betty Enslow on December 7, 1990 in Wausau, Wisconsin. He lived in Mountain Home since moving from Mosinee, Wisconsin in 2005. He enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, woodworking, and fishing. John especially enjoyed cooking Italian food. He had a special love for his dog Shiloh, and took her for a ride in the golf cart every day.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Persico; son, Dean (Julie) Persico of Denver, CO; daughters, Gina Burke of Denver, CO, and Susan (Anthony) Villanova of Murrieta, CA; brother, Samuel (Marge) Persico of New Lenox, IL; grandchildren, Mario Persico, Anthony Persico, Alexandra Heller, Sarah DeYoung, and Norah Villanova; and great-grandchild, Baker DeYoung.
John was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Blood; and brothers, Richard and Angelo Persico.
