Jerry Smith

Services for Jerry Wayne Smith of Franklin, Arkansas will be private. Jerry passed away June 10, 2012, at his residence at the age of 71. He was born on April 6, 1941 at Wenatokee, Washington the son of Jerimah Chester and Gladys Lee Brock Smith. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He worked for RCA in Florida on the tracking ship and helped put the first man on the moon during the Apollo II Mission. He also worked in Space Flight Operations in 1969. He married Diane Wedge on April, 1981, in Fairfield, California and worked as a Computer Program Analyst in the education field. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents. Jerry is survived by his wife, Diane of Franklin, AR; step-son, James Sullivan of Eugene, OR; step-daughter, Patricia (Dave) Lewis of Elk Grove, CA; 5 grandchildren and brother, Mike (Rita) Smith of Galt, CA. Memorial may be made to the Hospice of the Ozarks. Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
