James "Jim" Russell Stone of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away January 8, 2026, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 82. He was born November 26, 1943, in Pickren Hall, Arkansas, the son of Russell and Louise Price Stone. He married Glendora Cotter on September 5, 1964 in Bakersfield, Missouri. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the 82nd Airborne. Jim was a business owner of Stone's Auto Repair for 40 years. Jim lived in Mountain Home since moving from Independence, Missouri in 1975. He enjoyed quail hunting, crappie fishing, coached baseball from little tykes to American Legion, all sports, playing cards, and spending time with his family. In retirement, Jim tended his gardens and orchards, selling their harvest at the farmers market for enjoyment and a bit of pocket money to share with the grandkids.

Jim is survived by his children, Kim (Matt) Hendershot of Overland Park, Kansas and Jeffrey (Kelley) Stone of Mountain Home, Arkansas; grandchildren, Jamie Stone, Kelly Hendershot, Nick (Briley) Stone, Ashley Stone and Shawn Hendershot; three great-grandchildren, Deacon Allen, Josephine Rose, and Callum Wayne; brothers, Lloyd and Robert "Bob" (Luanne) Stone; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother TC Stone.

A Celebration of Life for Jim will be Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 AM. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army and Alley-White American Legion Post #52 Honor Guards.
