James Lincoln Clarke

James Lincoln Clarke, of Henderson, Arkansas, passed away February 28, 2024 in Mountain Home, Arkansas, at the age of 63. Born in Minnesota on October 17, 1960, James spent his life spreading joy to those around him and has left behind a legacy filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories.

James worked as an Assistant Manager at Ramada for 25 years. His time at Ramada not only defined his career but also led him to the love of his life. It was within the walls of the hotel that he met his wife, Heidi Clarke. Their unconventional beginning - with Heidi yelling at James only for him to playfully lock her in a broom closet until she apologized - blossomed into a romance that lasted over 20 years. Together, they built a family filled with love and laughter.

In addition to his career achievements, James had a mischievous side that endeared him to many. He enjoyed pranking his friends and family, feeding squirrels to pester his beloved wife Heidi, and creating memorable moments with his grandchildren, who affectionately called him 'Papa doodle-noodle'. One particular prank involved moving a stuffed unicorn around to convince his son, Austin, that it was possessed. James' sense of humor and creativity knew no bounds, his hobbies included indulging in sci-fi classics like Dr. Who and Star Trek - passions that he shared with his loved ones. Despite his light-hearted antics, James was a proud computer nerd. One of his fondest memories was sharing rides in the red truck with his son, Jeremy, they began to call the truck, "the duck" when Jeremy struggled to pronounce it correctly. He shared a special bond with his daughter, Tiffany through their own language, affectionately named 'Tiffanese'. This accomplishment was just one example of the depths of connection and understanding that James cultivated within his family.

James is survived by his devoted wife, Heidi Clarke; daughter, Tiffany (Chris) Kozik; sons, Austin (Erin) Moss, Jeremy (Tina) Hay, and Alex (Zoey) Book;  grandchildren, Jessalynn, Adalyn, August, Deacon, Olivia, Emery, and Nelliel; brother, John Clarke, ;as well as his honorary brothers, Richard "Rick" Book, and O.G. Haynes.

He is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Brittany Book; and sister Barbie Clarke.

James Lincoln Clark will always be remembered for the joy he brought into the lives of those around him and the special moments he shared with his family. May he rest in peace knowing that he has left behind a legacy of love and laughter that will endure for generations to come.
