Irene Agnes Murray of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away May 23, 2026, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 98. She was born October 22, 1927, in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Stephen and Isabelle Babarsky Shultz. She married Joseph Patrick Murray on February 23, 1957 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Irene was a dedicated registered nurse and health investigator. Irene lived in Mountain Home since moving from North Wales, Pennsylvania in 2010. She was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church and loved being part of the choral group and prayer group. She also enjoyed cooking, bowling, playing bingo, and knitting.
Irene is survived by her sons, Thomas Murray of North Wales, PA and Francis Xavier Murray of Mountain Home, AR; stepdaughter, Marsha Gluba of Hanover, IN; sisters, Mary Walker of Mountain Home, AR, and Antoinette Revel of Mountain Home, AR; 4 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings, Larry Shultz, Delores Broadt, Phyllis Robertson, Val Shultz, Evelyn Shultz, and Edward Shultz.
A Funeral Mass for Irene will be 10:00 am, Saturday, May 30, 2026, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, with Father Norbert Rappold officiating. Burial will be in the Limerick Garden of Memories in Limerick, Pennsylvania.
Memorials may be made to the Dominican Sisters of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 249 Dyer Street, Mountain Home, AR 72653.
