Harold Zumbaum

He was born May 1, 1933 to Aurther and Hulda Zumbaum in Denhoff, North Dakota. He married Mary Bohannon on August 17, 1963 at Oxford, Kansas. Barney was employed at Beech Aircraft for 31 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in both the Navy on the USS Yellowstone and the Samuel B. Roberts as a fireman and the Army in the Military Police. He was a lifetime member of the Hoevel-Barnett Veterans of Foreign War Post #1341 and the American Legion. Barney lived in Lakeview for twelve years moving here from Wichita, Kansas. Barney was an avid fisherman and golfer. He also loved football and basketball. He was a member of the Christ by the Lake Lutheran Church. Survivors: wife Mary Zumbaum of Lakeview, AR, one daughter, Linda Johnson(Dean) of Haleyville, Alabama, three sisters, Viola Westmeyer(Harold) of Mandan, North Dakota, Beatrice Sorenson(Glen) of Barre, Vermont and Vivian Hilkins(Gene) of Wilton, North Dakota , six grandchildren Michaela, Mike, Roy, Tabatha, Tori and Kevin, fourteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in Death by: his parents, one son and one brother. Funeral: 11:00AM April 16, 2007 at Christ by the Lake Lutheran Church Burial: Augusta Cemetery in Augusta, Kansas. Memorials: Hospice of the Ozarks.
