George Ralph McFarland, 83 of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away February 5, 2026, at home. He was born August 30, 1942, in Waukegan, Illinois, the son of George and Vera Warkentien McFarland. He was married to the love of his life Marilyn "Fran" McFarland for 45 years.

George was an avid lover of race cars, enjoyed his younger years at Waukegan Speedway and was always watching a race. After graduating from Waukegan Township High School in 1960, George served honorably in the U.S. Army. He later worked as a store manager for A1 Auto Parts of Waukegan for many years and later retired from New Trier Park School District.

George and Fran lived in Mountain Home since moving from Illinois in 2013. He loved spending time with family and friends, and his furry companion Charlie. They were both long-time parishioners at First Baptist Church on Spring Street, in Mountain Home.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marilyn in November 2024; his parents, George and Vera McFarland; brothers, Russell McFarland, and Dan McFarland; and sister, Patricia Watycha.

He is survived by daughter, Erica Marcheleta and granddaughter, Alyssa Lane of Beach Park, IL; sisters, Joyce Sekulich of Beach Park, IL, Gail Shiltz of Arlington Heights, IL, and Phyllis (Walter) Linsky of Breese, IL; brothers, Richard McFarland of Bristol, WI, and Bernard McFarland of Clermont, Fl; and many nieces and nephews.

His resting place will be with his wife, in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum, in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in memory of George and Fran McFarland.
