Donna Montgomery

Donna Marlene Smith Montgomery of Gassville, Arkansas, peacefully passed away on June 2, 2025, at the age of 72 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Born on December 21, 1952, in Saint Louis, Missouri, she was the daughter of Armond and Shirley Cramer Smith. Donna was united in marriage to Danny Montgomery on March 28, 1997, in Jacksonville, Arkansas. A dedicated Certified Public Accountant, she moved to North Arkansas in 1997. After the Gassville Tornado, they developed the Riverbend Park in Gassville. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her enjoyment of fishing, boating, swimming, and water skiing on Lake Norfork.

She leaves behind her husband, Danny Montgomery, and their children: Chad Montgomery of Jonesboro, Arkansas; Julie (Clint) Koen of Conway, Arkansas; and Joseph (Ariel) Montgomery of Gassville, Arkansas. Also mourning her passing is her sister, Sheri Woodard of Tulsa, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Iain (Jaime) Montgomery, Grayson Koen, Cale Koen, Siems Koen, Harley Bowman, and Joseph Montgomery; and a great-grandson, Winston. Donna was preceded in death by her father, Armond Smith; her mother, Shirley Smith; her son, Jeff Guminsky; and her sister, Sandra Smith Hays.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held in her honor at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Gassville Cemetery, in Gassville, Arkansas, with Reverend George Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be Carl Campbell, Jerry Cunningham, Steve Litty, Scott Poush, Dick House, and Joseph Montgomery. A reception will immediately follow at the Big Creek Golf and Country Club. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan's Purse. Arrangements are being handled by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
