IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald "Don" Dean
Curtis
April 28, 1934 – February 6, 2026
Donald “Don” Dean Curtis, of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, passed away on February 6, 2026, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, surrounded by his loving family. He was 91 years old. Don was born on April 28, 1934, in Perry, Iowa, to Russell E. and Mary Miller Curtis.
Don is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia Curtis of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, and a large blended family he cherished deeply. His children include Mary “Peggy” Adams (Britt), Debra Broughton, Donald Curtis Jr. (Peggy), Jeffrey Curtis (Elizabeth), and Betty Curtis Miles (Scott). He is also survived by his bonus daughter, Shelley Rew (Todd); stepchildren, Devin Wren (Sheri), Teresa Wren, Dan Wren, Keane Wren, and Dave Wren. Don leaves behind 23 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Richard “Rick” Curtis; his son-in-law, James A. Broughton; and his great-grandson, Aiden J. Bothwell.
Don and Pat shared a love for travel, visiting 48 states and five Canadian provinces together. They especially enjoyed volunteering at national parks across the United States. Don never met a stranger and was always eager to share his faith and his love for his Lord and Savior with anyone who would listen. He was deeply committed to serving others and was most recently active with the Marion County Gideons.
Don’s greatest sorrow was leaving behind those he loved-his wife, family, friends, and his beloved “pound puppies.”
A memorial service for Don will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Flippin, with Pastor Aaron Lindsey officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons International.
Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services of Bull Shoals, Arkansas. An online obituary and guestbook may be found at www.kirbyandfamily.com
