Don Lynn Webb, 82, was called to be with the Lord on June 9, 2026. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was born to the late James Rayburn and Ruby Sublett Webb on April 11, 1944, in Mitchell, Arkansas.

Don graduated from Viola High School in 1962. He was a member of the Viola Longhorn basketball and baseball teams, which were the only two sports offered at the time. He attended Arkansas State University -Beebe and Arkansas State Teachers College, before completing the graduation requirements in 1975 at Arkansas College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education with a major in Health and Physical Education. He was awarded the Master of Science in Education with a major in Administration and Secondary Principalship by Arkansas State University in 1997.

Don began his career coaching basketball and baseball at Norwood High School in Missouri, eventually returning to his alma mater, Viola High School. It was after his time at Viola, he made the decision to complete his degree at Arkansas College, where he was an Assistant Basketball Coach with LaVaughn Robertson. After graduating he became the girls' basketball coach at Cotter High School in Arkansas. In 1979, he became the Assistant Girls/Boys Basketball Coach and Head Baseball Coach at Mountain Home High School. He finally found his home! He was the head baseball coach at Mountain Home High School for 16 years, averaging 24 wins per season. Over that time, Webb garnered 7 conference championships and two state runner-ups.

Webb was inducted into the Arkansas High School Coaches Hall of Fame in 2012 and Mountain Home Athletic Hall of Honor in 2013. In addition to induction into the MH Hall of Honor as an individual, his 1986 Girls Basketball State Champions were inducted into the Hall of Honor in 2011.

He also taught Driver's Education during his later years with the Bombers. Webb's iconic DE instruction was, "Stay between the mayonnaise and mustard, and stop at the ketchup."

After he retired from teaching/coaching, he entered the world of politics running for the Mountain Home City Council. He served a total of 12 years.

When he came to Mountain Home he fell in love with the town and its people and they loved their coach, mentor, and encourager. He help shaped generations of young people that extended far beyond the game.

Webb was a skilled White River trout fisherman and respected guide. The only thing he loved more than catching trout himself was seeing others pull trout into his boat. He purchased a house on the White River and set it up as a VRBO in 2018. The advantage in staying at Webb's Place was that Don would take his guests trout fishing or just cruising the river. He not only took family and friends, but celebrities, including Whitey Herzog, Hank Iba's sons—Mo, Gene, and Skip, fly fisherman David Whitlock and others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as siblings, Ava Jo Clayton, Janice O'Leary (Jim), and Gloria Butler (Oren); and brother-in-law, Devoe Smith. He is survived by siblings, Betty Rose Smith of Harrisonville MO, Jim Webb (Ann) of Hot Springs Village AR, Jerry Webb (Pansy) of Bakersfield MO; brother-in-law, Paul Clayton of Overland Park KS; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Isabella. There are many stories in Bomber Nation about "The Man and His Dog".
