Born on January 26, 1944, in Alexandria, Louisiana, Fred was the beloved son of Heinz and Winona Hudson Kobialka. Fred married the love of his life, Marilyn Baggett, on August 19, 1971, in Louisiana. Additionally, he enjoyed the strategy and camaraderie of playing checkers, a game that brought him much joy. He loved watching birds, squirrels, and rainbows formed from crystals hanging in the windows, and listening to the wind chimes.
