Dana Eric "Rick" Hewitt of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away March 16, 2026, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 80. He was born September 11, 1945, in Waynesville, Missouri, the son of Warren and Lucy Ormsbee Hewitt. Rick was a U.S. Army Veteran. He began his military career as military police and later transitioned into personnel. He married Kathy Lothridge on September 12, 1981. Dana lived in Mountain Home since moving from St. Louis, Missouri in 2007. He was a member of the VIP and North Arkansas Wood Carvers. Rick served on the board of Clarkridge Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed dressing up as Santa Claus and bringing joy to children.

Rick is survived by his wife, Kathy Hewitt of Mountain Home, AR; children, Dana "Danny (Julie) Hewitt of IN; Michael (Tisha) Hewitt of Clarkridge, AR; Lisa (Bill) Apple of FL, and Anthony "Tony" (Ashley) Hewitt of TN; sister, Julie Young of OR; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Marsha Barker.

A Celebration of Life for Rick will be 1:00 pm, July 4, 2026 at the Clarkridge Volunteer Fire Department.

Memorial donations may be made to VIP, Humane Society of North Central Arkansas, and the Clarkridge Volunteer Fire Department.
