Charles "Chuck" Wesley Sugg, Jr. of Cotter, Arkansas, passed away January 3, 2026, in Cotter, Arkansas at the age of 81. He was born November 14, 1944, in Kinston, North Carolina, the son of Charles and Mattie May Sugg. Chuck was a U.S. Army veteran and later worked as a private contractor with KBR in Iraq. He worked many jobs throughout his life; zone mechanic and maintenance at the University of California, building motorcycles at Harley-Davidson, truck driving, security guard at Baxter Health, and serving as a reserve deputy. Charles lived in Cotter since moving from Flagstaff, Arizona in 1992. He married Sharon Keahey on April 23, 2002, in Cotter, Arkansas. He was a member of the Mountain Home Masonic Lodge #225 and the Sons of Confederate Veterans, recently serving as Commander. Chuck was also a member of the Historical Society and service as a Councilman for the City of Cotter.

Chuck is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon Sugg; children, Blane, Cindy, Katrina, and Matthew; sister, Susan; brother Kenneth (Dana); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Gathering of Remembrance for Chuck will be held 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Cotter City Hall.

Memorials may be made to Cotter Fire Department, Baxter County Sheriff's Office, the Masonic Lodge, Baxter County Historical Society, a veteran's assistance program, or a charity of your choice.
