Charles Raymond Brown, 93, passed away on June 19, 2026 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Charles was born on August 20, 1932 in Kilgore, Texas to Lester and Estelle (Johnson) Brown. He graduated from Norphlet High School in 1950 and moved to Chicago, where he met his wife, Mary. They married in 1953 in Chicago. He retired from Arkansas Best Freight in 1992 after 33 years of service. He and Mary moved to Mountain Home in 1992, from Tinley Park, Illinois. Charles liked trading cars, playing cards at casinos, and spoiling his Boston Terriers.

Charles is survived by his children, Julie (Jan) Pietrzak of Palos Heights, IL, Debra Legner of Mountain Home, AR, Lisa Gawlicki of Orland Park, IL, and Raymond (Tammy) Brown of Blue Ridge, GA; grandchildren, Christy Legner of Austin, TX, and John (Emily) Legner of Phoenix, AZ; a great-grandson, Tyson (Trisha) Legner of Tucson, AZ; and his sister, Priscilla Reeves of Norphlet, AR.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary; sister, Carol Thrash; and brother, Johnny Brown.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 11:00 am, at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery in Mountain Home, Arkansas, with Deacon Bob Wochner officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas.
