Catalina González, una querida mujer de bien, falleció en paz el 13 de julio de 2025, a la increíble edad de 98 años. Nació el 30 de abril de 1927 en San Miguel, El Salvador. Hija de Gregorio Gonzalez Molina y Guillerma Rivera de González. En 1948, contrajo matrimonio con Satiel Polio González en El Salvador. A lo largo de su vida, acogió a muchos sobrinos, a quienes ayudó a criar como si fueran sus propios hijos.

Su viaje la llevó a los Estados Unidos a finales de los 80’, donde continuó dejando huella en la vida de su familia. Catalina era una mujer profundamente dedicada a su familia, apreciada por su dulzura, cariño, cuidados y sus deliciosas comidas hechas con amor. Su cocina solía estar llena de risas ya que los platillos caseros reunían a todos.

Catalina deja un profundo legado a través de su hermana en vida, Guillermina de Jesús González Rivera; su hija, Guillermina Polio; su hijo, Abraham Polio; y sus amados nietos: Carmen Catalina Jones, Germán Verech Polio, Harold Wilfredo Polio, Arístides Polio, Ana Kathy Polio y George Abraham Polio. Su amor también llegó a sus bisnietos: Anthony Louis Jones, Nathan Randall Jones, Brenton Dockett, Peyton Polio, Emmett Polio, Lucas Polio, Gabriella Polio, Elías Polio, Lucas Arístides Polio, Gabriela Polio y Elijah Abraham Polio, a quienes amaba profundamente.

Catalina fue precedida en muerte por sus padres, Gregorio Gonzalez Molina y Guillerma González, su esposo, Satiel Abraham Polio, y su hijo, Luis Alonso Polio. También la precedieron en muerte sus hermanos: María Luisa González de Díaz, Ana Gregoria González Rivera, María Eugenia González, Julio César González Rivera, María Eustaquia González Rivera y Raúl González Rivera. Sus memorias seguirán vivas en las muchas personas que tocaron sus vidas.

La familia y amigos están invitados a reunirse para celebrar la vida de Catalina. La velación/Visitacion se llevará a cabo el viernes 25 de julio de 2025, de 5:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m., en Kirby & Family Funeral Home. El servicio fúnebre será el sábado 26 de julio de 2025, a las 10:00 a.m. en la Primera Iglesia Bautista, oficiado por el Pastor Tad Rogers y el Pastor Vitalino Méndez. Catalina será sepultada en el cementerio Kirby's Tucker Memorial, y sus nietos Carmen Jones, Harold Polio, Arístides Polio, Ana Polio, Anthony Jones y Nathan Jones servirán como portadores del féretro.

Catalina Gonzalez, a beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2025, at the incredible age of 98. Born on April 30, 1927, in El Salvador, she was the daughter of Gregorio Gonzalez Molina and Guillerma Rivera de Gonzalez. In 1948, she entered into a loving marriage with Satiel Gonzalez in El Salvador. She took in many nephews and helped raise them as her own.

Catalina's journey brought her to the United States in the late 1980's, where she continued to weave her legacy through the lives of her family. A true family-oriented woman, she was adored for her warmth, kindness, and the delectable meals she crafted with love. Her kitchen was often filled with laughter and the cherished aroma of home-cooked dishes that brought everyone together.

She leaves behind a profound legacy through her sister, Guillermina de Jesus Gonzalez; her daughter, Guillermina Polio Rivera; her son, Abraham Polio; and her treasured grandchildren: Carmen Catalina Jones, German Verech Polio, Harold Wilfredo Polio, Aristides Polio, Ana Kathy Polio, and George Abraham Polio. Her love extended further to her great-grandchildren, Anthony Louis Jones, Nathan Randall Jones, Brenton Dockett, Peyton Polio, Emmett Polio, Lucas Polio, Gabriella Polio, Elias Polio, Lucas Aristides Polio, Gabriela Polio, and Elijah Abraham Polio, each of whom she adored endlessly.

Catalina is preceded in death by her parents, Gregorio Gonzalez Molina and Guillerma Gonzalez, her husband, Satiel Abraham Polio, and her son, Luis Alonso Polio. She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Maria Luisa Gonzalez de Diaz, Ana Gregoria Gonzalez Rivera, Maria Eugenia Gonzalez, Julio Cesar Gonzalez Rivera, Maria Eustaquia Gonzalez Rivera, and Raul Gonzalez Rivera. Their memories live on through the many lives she touched.

Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Catalina’s life. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kirby & Family Funeral Home. A heartfelt Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Tad Rogers and Pastor Vitalino Mendez. Catalina will be laid to rest at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, with her grandchildren, Carmen Jones, Harold Polio, Aristides Polio, Ana Polio, Anthony Jones, and Nathan Jones serving as pallbearers.
