Joyce
Hudson
March 30, 1947 – March 29, 2026
It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Brenda Joyce Hudson, who went home to be with the Lord on March 29, 2026, just minutes before celebrating her 79th birthday. Happy Birthday in Heaven, Momma. She was the cherished wife of her soulmate, Dean, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, faith, and devotion. Together, they built a family rooted in strong values, compassion, and unwavering belief in God. A devoted Christian, she loved Jesus with all her heart and lived her life as a reflection of His grace. Her faith guided everything she did, and she was a light to all who knew her. Joyce was a proud and loving mother to seven children—four sons and three daughters—who were her greatest joy and legacy. Her love extended far beyond her family, touching countless lives through her kindness and service. She dedicated her life to helping others in many ways. As an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter she gave a voice to those in need of one. As a missionary to Haiti, she served with compassion and humility. At home, she found joy in quilting, preserving food through canning, and creating a warm, welcoming space for all. She was always ready to lend a helping hand, embodying the true spirit of service. She also found an outlet for service in her 30 years of participation in White River Health Care, the family’s long-term care facility in Calico Rock, Arkansas. Her life was a testament to love, faith, and selflessness. She will be deeply missed but long remembered in the hearts of her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. We expect she has now heard the commendation: “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of her Savior.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Doyle Greenslade. She is survived by her husband, Dean Hudson; her brother, Jimmy (Judy) Greenslade; her sister, Ginger (Robert) Elam; 7 children, Billy Fletcher, Lara (Mark) Case, Tip (Jessica) Hudson, Natalie Fletcher, Lucas (Alison) Hudson, Peter Hudson, and Rebecca (Justin) Baker. Joyce had 26 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
