Billy Ray Goode, Jr.

August 1, 1956 – October 7, 2025

Billy Ray Goode, Jr., 69, of Gamaliel, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025. He was born on August 1, 1956, in Sugar Land, Texas, to Billy Ray Goode, Sr. and Thelma Edwards.

Bill grew up in Alvin, Texas, where he met the love of his life, Jama Lynette Enochs. Together, they built a beautiful life and family, grounded in faith, laughter, and love. Bill retired from Shell Oil, where he worked as a dedicated boiler maker.

A man of many passions, Bill was an avid gardener and fisherman who also loved guns and bow hunting. He had a contagious laugh, a sharp wit, and a heart full of love for his family. A believer in Jesus Christ, he spoke often and proudly of his faith and his love for God.

Bill was intelligent, well-read, and had a deep appreciation for music. He loved to sing—especially songs by Jerry Jeff Walker, Randy Travis, and Elvis Presley. He enjoyed shooting pool, spending time outdoors, and relaxing with an ice-cold Coca-Cola, his favorite drink. Bill found peace and purpose in nature and became a professional cannabis cultivator, using his knowledge to help others experience the same relief and healing it brought him.

His joyful spirit and love of life brought smiles to everyone around him.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Lynn Goode (husband Craig Patinsky and son Anthony Patinsky); his son, Billy Ray Goode III (wife Barbara Goode, daughter Emma Goode, and son Gunnar Goode); and his daughter, Cortney Renee O'Daniel (husband Austin O'Daniel and daughter June O'Daniel); along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife and the mother of his children, Jama Lynette Goode; his parents, Thelma and Billy Ray Goode, Sr.; his sister Terry Grupe; his brother Kevin Goode; and his sister Gayle Goode-Lee.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at a later date. The family takes comfort knowing he is now in the arms of his Heavenly Father, reunited with Jama, and surrounded by peace. Though we will miss him forever, we rejoice in knowing he is happier than ever, home with the Lord.
