Betty Sue Lute

Betty Sue Lute of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away November 7, 2024, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 87. She was born March 22, 1937, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, the daughter of Albert and Barbara Newell. She married Darrell Henry Lute on March 29, 1955, in South Bend, Indiana and worked as an assembler at Baxter Lab for 20 years. Betty lived in Mountain Home since moving from Gainesville, Missouri in 1993. She was a beloved member of the Mountain Home Church of Christ where she had many friends. Betty enjoyed gardening and spending time in the yard. More than anything, she loved her family and spending time with them.


Betty is survived by her daughters Darrelletta Walls of Cardwell, MO, Theresa (Tandy) Strong of Gainesville, MO, and Barbara Weatherford of Gainesville, MO; son, Lonny Lute of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Hank Lute of Highlandville, MO, Jennifer Walker of Cardwell, MO, Chuck Walls, Jr. of Cardwell, MO, April Lynne of Gainesville, MO, Catrina Hawkins of Noble, MO, Justin Strong of Gainesville, MO, Jeremy Lute of Oklahoma, Corey Weatherford of Springfield, MO, and Ellis Lute of Oklahoma; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.


She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Darrell Henry Lute, Jr.; brothers, Woodrow, Jimmy, Charlie, Walter Lee, Ned, Ted, and Marvin Newell; and sisters, Louise Adams and Lois Pearl Gibson; and infant siblings, Bobby Jo and Joanne Newell.


Visitation will be Tuesday, November 12, 2024, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Service for Betty will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Mountain Home Church of Christ, with Brother David Pitchford officiating. Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum, Mountain Home, Arkansas, with Matt Lynne, Dalton Hawkins, Corey Weatherford, Baylee Lynne, Payton Lynne, and Weston Hawkins as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Tandy Strong, Lonny Lute, Hank Lute, Kenny Walker, Chuck Walls, Jr., and Justin Strong.
