Benjamin Franklin Hinds, 73, of Oakland, Arkansas, died May 7, 2026, at Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.
Ben was a proud Veteran who served his country honorable with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from 1970 to 1974. He was a Petty Officer Third Class aircraft director with the Attack Squadron Thirty-Seven aboard the U.S.S. Saratoga. Ben went out of his way to speak with every veteran that crossed his path greeting them with the saying, "I've got your six". He was a tough Dad who taught his girls hard work and strong work ethics. He taught them to check the oil, rotate the tires, and complete general maintenance on vehicles before they were allowed to drive. He was always proud of his girls. He bragged to all who would listen about each one of them and their successes. His deep unashamed pride leaves a lasting mark and it is incredibly comforting to know how loudly and happily he celebrated the people he loved. Ben enjoyed old cars especially Willy Jeeps and Ford trucks. He rebuilt many vehicles during his time and tinkered with others as he aged. Ben will be remembered and cherished in the hearts of all who loved him.
He is survived by his three daughters and two grandsons. He was proceeded in death by his parents and son.
