Anne Talbert Allen
January 7, 1943 – March 28, 2026
Our beautiful mother, Anne Talbert Allen, was born on January 7, 1943, in Vanndale, Arkansas. She lived a full and abundant life defined by love for her family, devotion to her husband, and a generous heart that touched everyone who knew her.
Anne spent her early childhood in Vanndale before moving to Yazoo City, Mississippi, where she later attended Delta State. Shortly after attending college, she married the love of her life, Jimmy, on October 17, 1964. Together they began building a life rooted in love, laughter, and family. They spent a few years in West Plains, Missouri, but the place Anne was most proud to call home was Mountain Home, Arkansas.
A devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother, Anne lived her life centered around her family. She shared a beautiful life with her husband while raising their two daughters, Eden Cowart (Dale V. Cowart) and Amber Gibbs (Kiley Lawson). She loved her family fiercely and found great joy in watching it grow.
Anne was the proud grandmother of Coleson Cowart, Aubrey Gilliam (Kaleb), Drew Gibbs, and Jack Gibbs, and the delighted great-grandmother of Brooklyn Gilliam.
Throughout her career, Anne worked in retail, where she became well known in her community for her knowledge, honesty, and warm personality. Local customers trusted her and appreciated her ability to help them find exactly what they needed.
Anne had strong opinions, a giving heart, and a wonderful sense of humor. She was famous for her unique Southern expressions, her gift for storytelling, her impeccable style with her red nails and red lipstick … always ! She showed her love through the meals she prepared—every dish cooked with care and shared around a family table. Anne greatly enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, sharing many hours of laughter, friendly competition, and cherished companionship. She also loved to shop for the latest trends and was especially proud of finding the very best bargains.
She also loved working in her yard and decorating her home, always making it beautiful and welcoming to those she loved.
Anne will be remembered for her warmth, her laughter, her quiet love for God and the deep love she poured into her family and home. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and in the friends and family who loved her so dearly. We love you. Rest in peace Mama.
