Allen Otto Wentzel, age 70, of Harriet, Arkansas, departed this life on Thursday, July 30, 2025 after bravely facing advanced stages of cancer. Allen was born in Lorain, Ohio on June 05, 1955 to the late Otto F. and Virginia R. Wentzel. Allen joined the US Army after finishing high school and became a SGT for the distinguished 48 th Aviation Co, he earned the distinction of “Expert” in explosives and power generation equipment and repair. He was awarded an honorable discharge and several other service decorations after his deployments in both the Vietnam and Iran-Iraq wars.

Allen Wentzel was a proud and loving father and grandfather, and a wonderful friend to those who had the pleasure of being around him. He was a boisterous and outgoing person with a quick and easy sense of humor, laughter often accompanied any conversations with him. He was also a thoughtful follower of God and appreciated nature. One of Allen’s passions in life was cooking, he loved to experiment with ingredients and flavors and enjoyed sharing his love of food with others, even competing in local cooking events for his community sometimes.

Allen enjoyed a nice fire in the backyard, a cold beer and some classic rock music playing, and a tasty late night snack. His presence will be deeply missed and memories of him cherished by his children, Lisa  (Wesley) Wentzel-Shaw, Norwalk OH, Maren W. and Valerian Wentzel, Morgantown WV, Austin and Katarina Wentzel, Harriet AR, Alanna Wentzel, Russellville AR, his 2 sisters Judith Bohland and Jeanne Beckler, Norwalk OH, his several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as his extended family and close friends. Allen was greeted on the other side by his parents as well as his oldest son, Otto Wentzel.
