Warren Mason Foss

A Memorial Service for Warren Mason Foss, 95, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 11:00 am, Saturday, April 21, 2018, at First Baptist Church, with Dr. Tad Rogers officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 and the United States Navy Honor Guards.

Warren passed away March 11, 2018. He was born June 10, 1922, in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, the son of Edgar and Evelyn Mason Foss. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII, serving at Pearl Harbor and in the South Pacific. He married Dorothy Woodsmall on July 21, 1979, in St. Louis, Missouri.

Warren held a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from the University of New Hampshire, Masters Degrees in Chemical Engineering and Statistics from Rutgers University and a Doctorate Degree in Material Science. He worked as a Research Chemist for N.L. Industries from 1950 to 1978 and Paul Industries from 1979 until his retirement in 1993 and was the holder of many U.S. Patents in chemistry.

Warren was a believer in our Lord Jesus Christ and came to know Him through the Billy Graham Crusade in New York, New York in 1958. He always had the light and Glory of Christ reflected in his living and was an inspiration to all those he met. He was gifted by God with a brilliant mind and was always eager to share the love and hope of his Christian beliefs. Warren enjoyed working with Upward Basketball and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church. One of Warren's favorite hobbies was putting up their wonderful display of lights at Christmas. Their display became one of the largest in the area with families coming from all around to see it.

Warren is survived by his children, Geraldine Foss of Greenfield, NH, Warren (Pamela) Foss, Jr. of East Sandwich, MA, Dr. Cynthia (David) Bowman of Hope, ME and Gloria (Paul) St. Amant of Lithia, FL; grandchildren, Jeffery and Christina, born to Gloria and Paul, Heather and William born to Warren and Pam and David born to Cynthia and David; sister-in-law Norma Gaughright; and special friends, Carol Chalmers, Robert and Jackie Clark and Glen and Sharon Newman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy; brother, Richard Foss; two sisters, Margaret Foss and Virginia Bromfield and two brothers-in-law, Rudy Woodsmall and Gene Gaughright

Burial will be in the Macey Cemetery, Monette, Arkansas.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church or Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.

Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
