Thomas F Nixon of Columbia, Illinois, passed away August 10, 2021 at home with his family by his side at the age of 85. He was born April 11, 1936, in Byram, Mississippi, the son of Millage and Eula (Roberts) Nixon. After high school, he joined the Air Force serving four years at Barksdale Air Force Base. he married his wife, Charlene Andrews Nixon of 61 years on October 24, 1959 in Gurdon, Arkansas. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Mountain Home, Arkansas. He enjoyed going on mission trips and traveling with his wife. He also enjoyed gardening and sharing the fruits of his labor with friends and family.

Thomas is survived by his wife; daughter, Theresa Weekley of Columbia, Illinois; son, David (Mary) Nixon of Minden, Louisiana; grandchildren, David Thomas (April) Nixon of Haughton, Louisiana, Crystle (Jonathan) Williams of Minden, Louisiana, Danielle (Anthony) Martin of Columbia, Illinois, Shannon (Jarred) Flowers of Columbia, Illinois; nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James (Mossie) Nixon, Robert Nixon; sister, Loretta (Howard) King; grandson, Brian Keith; and great grandson, Slade Thomas.

Visitation will be Monday, August 30, 2021, 9:00 am - 10:30 am, at First Baptist Church of Mountain Home, followed by a funeral service with Dr. Tad Rogers officiating. Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas. Due to current restrictions, masks are required.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Mountain Home.
