She loved church work and was president of Ladies Missionary at Greenfield Baptist Church for two years. She taught Sunday school and Bible school both at GBC and Unity Baptist Church in Brown County.
She was also president of the PTA at Helmsburg Elementary for two years.

Marcie and Jimmy attended Valley Mission Church of Nazarene for several years, later changing to Bloomington Holiness Church, which was closer to home.

Marcie loved the people from both churches but most of all she loved and lived for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, having been saved as a young girl and been a Christian all her life.
