Born in Red Banks, Mississippi.
Deceased at New Oxford, Pennsylvania.

Sadie "Ann" lived her life around Red Banks, Mississippi; Lepanto, Trumann and Mountain Home, Arkansas area; and Jacksonville, Florida.

Sadie was preceded in death by her parents Vardaman and Cassie (Hopper) Thompson. Her brothers: Emanuel, Devaniel, Lester, Luster and Donald. Her sisters: Earlene, Mary, Margie and Marie. Her husbands Mickey Short and E.L. Smith

Ann is survived by her brother Daniel and sisters Nadine and Clara. Her children: Gary (Judy) Smith of Flower Mound, Texas; Tim (Kim) Smith of Bay, Arkansas; Gloria (Jerry) Guyer of New Oxford, Pennsylvania and Mark Short of Mayflower, Arkansas. As well, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Ann grew up in a large family of (sharecroppers). Everyone worked hard for the benefit of the family. Her home was filled with love for each other and a foundation in Jesus as Lord and Savior. She loved her family and spoke often of her admiration of her mother Cassie.

Sadie's work career included the cotton fields, manufacturing plants, and co-owner of a residential repair and maintenance company in the Mountain Home area. But she was most happy as a homemaker. She could cook anything, sew, can vegetables, grow a garden. She just loved being a mom, grandmother and great-grandmother.

We will all miss her. But many times, she said...do not despair when I am gone from this world. I am with Jesus and am doing great.

Visitation will be Friday, October 22, 2021, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be 10:00 am, Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Johnny Ray Lake officiating. Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas, with Richard Short, Anthony Spafford, Matthew Spafford and Joshua Smith as pallbearers. Due to current restrictions, masks are required.

Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services - Mountain Home, Arkansas.
