Richard T. Purviance of Bull Shoals, Arkansas passed away October 12, 2018, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 88. He was born on October 11, 1930, in Lincoln, Illinois. He was the son of Raymond and Mildred (Reichle) Purviance.
Richard is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lois Purviance of Bull Shoals, AR; daughters, Cindy (Jim (deceased) Head and Marci (Pete) Vasiliades of Lockport, IL; sons, Mike (Sandy) Purviance of Winston Salem, NC and Thomas (Kala) Purviance of Lockport, IL; grandchildren, Jamie, Tim, and Zach Head, Austin, Aaron and Alexander Purviance, Elyse and Lanie Vasiliades, Davis and Connor Purviance and great-grandchildren, Cassidy and Spencer Head, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Bruce Purviance. his parents, and five siblings.
Richard worked as a reactor engineer and specialist for Argonne National Laboratory for thirty-four years, until retiring in 1992. Richard served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force and a veteran of the Korean War. Richard and his wife have lived in Bull Shoals since moving from Lockport, Illinois, in 1992.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date in Lockport, Illinois.
