The Broken Chain

We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone;
for part of us went with you, the day God called you home.

You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide;
and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same;
but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.


During a quiet moment, Jesus came and in His warm, loving voice He whispered, “In my Father’s House there are many rooms.... I want to show you the beautiful room that I have prepared for you.”

Our Savior reached out and took our lil mama’s hand in His gentle grasp. At that moment there was no more pain, no more discomfort, but a renewed fortitude in her soul. Jesus continued, “You have had the pleasure of many wonderful blessings on this earth. Faith and family were your loves, and you touched the lives of so many through prayer. Your dedication, sacrifice, and commitment to the faith are to be commended. As wonderful and satisfying as your life was, I tell you the best is yet to come! Come and dwell with me forever.”

Without looking back, our lil mama knew she was ready to listen to the Shepherd’s invitation and join the loved ones who had passed before and now were in God’s Heavenly Home. It was at this moment that there were no regrets of leaving this world behind. It was at this moment she seized the best. It was at this moment our lil mama was home!

Patricia "Patti" Ann Schossow of Mountain Home, Arkansas, went to be with Jesus in her Heavenly Home on January 2, 2022, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 72. She went to be with Jesus on her favorite day…. Sunday…. Can you imagine the celebration in Heaven that day? She was born March 17, 1949, in Storm Lake, Iowa, the daughter of Russell and Clara Clever Martin. She married her best friend, Robert (Bob) Schossow on October 6, 1974, in Storm Lake, Iowa. She worked in the home raising her children. Patti lived in Mountain Home since moving from Iowa in 2019. She attended First Assembly of God Church of Mountain Home and was passionate about her love for Jesus. She led her life with her family in faith.

Patti and Bob had a beautiful love story and created lasting memories during their 47 years of marriage. They loved to travel together and often brought along their beloved dog Toby to spend time with family and friends. Patti will be remembered by all, first and foremost, for her love for Jesus, followed closely by her love for her family and friends. Those close to Patti will miss her warm smile, the tenderness of her voice, her selfless nature, and knowing that she was always lifting them up in prayer. Patti will also be remembered for her gift of baking, her quick wit, sense of humor, a willingness to encourage others, and her competitive nature while playing games. Her selfless dedication, love for her family, and her unwavering faith in Jesus will remain as an example to all who knew her. Rest easy lil mama. Your tender voice and comforting words will remain in our hearts and minds forever. We will see you again soon…

Patti is survived by her husband, Robert Schossow of Mountain Home, AR; daughters, Traci (Matt) Pawlowski of Iowa, Tammi Snow of New Hampshire, Jerri (Gregg) Tipton of Washington, son, Eddie (Patricia) Schossow of Arizona, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and brother, Bert (Jean) Martin of Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Clara Martin, brothers, Raymond and Ernest, and sisters, Charlotte and Lorraine.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life to be determined at a later date.
