Michael "Tim" Jones

May 7, 1946 — November 24, 2022

Michael Timothy Jones of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away November 24, 2022, at the age of 76. He died peacefully in his home, after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis.

He was born May 7, 1946, in Yakima, Washington, the son of Wilbern Ryland and Betty Kasper Jones. Tim was baptized on August 7, 1954 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. His family moved to Batesville, Mississippi in 1958 to help further the Kingdom preaching work. In 1964, Tim moved to Northern Indiana and worked as an electrician and welder in the steel mills, and then as a carpenter on high-rise buildings in Chicago. On September 30, 1967, he married - as he would always say - his “beautiful Sharon”.

In 1974, Tim and Sharon moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas to make a home and raise their three children. Tim worked hard to make a living for his family. He was a carpenter foreman on the Lake Norfork bridges, he built and wired custom homes, and he owned his own welding shops. He took great joy in spending time with his family and helping others. You could always count on him to be there for you - whenever and wherever.

But if you knew Tim, you knew that his greatest love was for his God, Jehovah. He served as an elder in the local congregation for 40 years, freely volunteering his time and energy to make sure others knew about the Bible’s precious hope for the future. Among his favorite verses are those found at Isaiah 33:24 & Revelation 21:4. He held these hopes dear, right down to the end. And Tim did not fear death, because of the Bible’s promise of a resurrection and life on earth forever in paradise. (John 5:28, 29 & Psalm 37:29)

Tim is survived by his wife, Sharon Jones of Mountain Home, AR; two sons, Aaron (Messina) Jones, of Lakeview, AR and Cody Jones, of Mountain Home, AR; daughter, Natalie (Chris) Cruse, of Mountain Home, AR; three brothers-in-law, David (Patti) Turner, Mark (Pam) Turner and Doug (Melissa) Turner, of Mountain Home, AR; one sister, Priscilla (Tim) Hudson, of Citrus Heights, CA; one sister-in-law, Susan (Mark) Christian, of Cotter, AR; six grandchildren, Madisson Cruse, Levi Cruse, Mackenzi Cruse, Mia Jones, Ava Jones and Amelia Jones.

A Memorial Service for Tim will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 10, 2022, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, with Mr. Dereck Westhafer officiating. The service will also be broadcast live via Zoom.
